The New Math

A couple of weeks ago I went to St. Paul to visit Sassy again. She found a home for the two little kittens, so now instead of insanity, we have a new mathematical equation for her world:

Insanity - two kittens = near total chaos!

Left to right: Donny, Gypsy, Jasper

Doesn't look so bad, does it?
Aww, so cute. Two kitties cuddling together...

But wait...where are they?

That's right. In the linen closet.

And then there's THIS cute little cuddler...

But what's this? Did a bomb go off here?
This is just Sassy's "lifestyle choice"...messy, messy, messy, overlaid with a layer of cat hair on every surface.

By the way, did you notice my new "au naturel" haircolor? I'm just exercising the privileges of being a charter member of the Haircolor of the Month club. It's kind of bizarre when I have to show my ID, because my haircolor is different on my passport, my driver's license, and in real life. I once had a policeman say "Are you sure this is you?" when looking from my driver's license to my face. I have a great deal of ambivalence about my "prematurely" salt and pepper hair. On the one hand, I really don't mind it, and it is a lot easier and cheaper not to have to color it. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure it makes me look older than I am, especially considering my Mother-in-law is blonde and I'm gray and we spend a lot of time together these days. I tend to kind of have this "ask me if I care" attitude about it most of the time, but occasionally it bothers me to have people ask me if my husband is my son (stupid people, but people nonetheless).

Sassy dragged me on a 3.2 mile walk around Lake Calhoun while I was there and I truly thought I was gonna die!!!

Oh look, there are buildings over there!

What's that you say, Sassy? We're going to walk
ALL THE WAY around? Gaaaaaack.

I think I'll just cut across the ice...
or not...
We did eventually make it, and I'm still alive (I think)...but we had to go for a burger afterwards. Saw this on the way to the burger joint:

Anyone have a really big bottle opener?

This building looks SLIGHTLY familiar...

Why, it's the Metrodome! But there's something missing...
I can't quite put my finger on what it is...
Oh yeah, it's the roof!
One last point...or rather question...

Does anyone know what "Scraves" are?
Over and out...

  1. Love the photos and the update. I love you just the way you are and with whatever hair color you want to have!
